About
ActionAid Zimbabwe has vacancies that have arisen under its Zimbabwe Resilience Building Fund (ZRBF). The overall objective of the ZRBF is to contribute to increased capacities of communities to protect development gains and achieve improved well-being outcomes in the face of shocks and stresses enabling them to contribute to the economic growth of Zimbabwe. Under ZRBF the Zambezi Valley Alliance consortium seeks to build resilience of communities in 3 districts (Kariba, Mbire and Binga) along Zambezi Valley through enhancing their capacities, access to assets, resources and opportunities to improve their wellbeing.)
Position Summary
The Financial Inclusion and Gender Field Officer will support district teams in program design, monitoring and evaluation, partnership creation whilst leading the integration of gender sensitive programming elements in accordance with donor and AAZ requirements. S/he will provide a comprehensive financial inclusion service to all of the business group enterprise created by the project (ISALs, pen fattening, goat breeding, poultry, fodder, gardening and small grains) to increase access to financial services. Working with farmers groups who require advice, support and monitoring across all areas of financial inclusion including financial planning, budgeting, saving, access to credit and prevention of indebtedness. Establishment of key partnerships with financial service providers and specialized development agencies. The incumbent will conduct production and market assessments, assist in facilitation of market linkages on prioritized value chains. The officer will be responsible for organizing and mobilizing smallholder farmers, linking them to resilient markets and to protect development gains as informed by DRM strategies. Likewise, she/he will ensure that the production and market linkage activities at various levels are performed as planned and brings about the desired impact through monitoring, evaluation, research and documentation of lessons learnt.
Qualifications
Degree in social sciences, development economics, or related discipline or the equivalent experience; 3 years of experience in Gender and Finance Plus projects (i.e. financial inclusion initiatives related to women empowerment) is mandatory; candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop strong relationships with stakeholders from private and public sector; Strong Project Management skills and Ability and experience in riding a motorbike is a must.
