Sterling Hotels, situated in the picturesque Kanyemba region of Mashonaland Central District, is currently on the lookout for talented individuals to join its dynamic team. The positions available span various departments, offering opportunities for individuals with diverse skills and experiences. Whether you have a passion for hospitality, finance, or culinary arts, Sterling Hotels has a place for you. Here are the details of the available positions:

1. Lodge Manager (Couple Preferred)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization throughout the hotel.
  • Train and supervise new employees.
  • Schedule and assign work tasks to employees.
  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet standards.
  • Respond to guest complaints and take appropriate action.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, implementing preventative measures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Prepare reports on employee performance and departmental operations.
  • Enforce safety regulations and policies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing hotel policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the interviewing and hiring of new staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews for subordinates.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism.
  • Proven experience as a Lodge Manager or similar role.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

2. Finance Clerk (1 Position)

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Lodge Manager.
  • Assists in maintaining the Lodge Office financial records.
  • Prepares invoices for payment.
  • Investigate and resolve inquiries related to billing and invoicing.
  • Maintains customer and vendor financial information.
  • Assists in posting journal entries into the accounting software.
  • Prepares various financial reports for management.
  • Assists in preparing forms, correspondence, and inter-department memos for management and departmental support.
  • Performs other financial activities as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Commerce honours degree in Accounting.
  • Knowledge and ability in the use of computer software applications.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable and receivable.
  • Understanding of relevant financial legislation policies and procedures.

3. Receptionist (2 Positions)

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist guests with check-in and check-out.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and friendly demeanor.
  • Respond to guest questions and requests promptly.
  • Manage guest bookings and reservations.
  • Keep a tidy and orderly workspace.
  • Assist with administrative and clerical tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a hotel receptionist or guest services role.
  • National Diploma in Hotel Catering or suitable equivalent.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude even under high pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.

4. Chefs (2 Positions)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create a diverse and high-quality menu.
  • Conduct food costing.
  • Order and monitor food supplies.
  • Prepare high-quality dishes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Train junior chefs.
  • Work unsupervised and deliver quality food.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree, diploma, or certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience.
