One Young World, the global community for young leaders, is offering a fully funded scholarship for refugees to attend the One Young World Summit 2023 in Belfast, UK. This scholarship aims to empower young leaders from refugee backgrounds and provide them with the opportunity to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
The selected scholars will have the chance to participate in the Summit, join the One Young World Ambassador community, and gain access to mentorship, educational events, speaking engagements, and funding opportunities.

The One Young World Summit 2023 will take place in Belfast, a city known for its resilience and optimism. The Summit, attended by influential leaders from various sectors, offers a platform for young leaders to enhance their knowledge and skills in order to drive meaningful change.
This year’s Summit holds special significance as it marks the 25th anniversary of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement, a testament to the power of leadership in overcoming challenges.
Scholarship Benefits
The selected scholars will receive the following benefits:
- Delegate access to the One Young World Summit 2023 in Belfast from 2 – 5 October.
- Hotel accommodation in Belfast from 1 – 5 October.
- Meals and catering throughout the Summit.
- Return travel to Belfast.
- Permanent membership in the One Young World Ambassador community.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a refugee or have direct personal experience of forced displacement.
- Be aged between 18 and 35 years at the time of the One Young World Summit 2023.
- Demonstrate proven leadership ability and serve as role models in their communities.
- Possess innovative thinking and problem-solving skills driven by strong values.
- Show a commitment to creating a positive impact for refugee communities through various initiatives, such as improving access to education, creating jobs or providing skills training, advocacy, engagement with sports, improving access to healthcare, or poverty alleviation.
Application Process and Deadline
Applications for the Fully Funded One Young World Refugee Scholarship 2023 in the UK can be submitted until the deadline of 12 June 2023. Scholars will be selected through both public applications and nominations from the Scholarship’s supporting partners.
