*Job brief:*


A company in the FMCG market is looking for a Wine Brand Manager. The Wine Brand Manager is in charge of implementing a variety of marketing and promotional initiatives. Their primary responsibility will be to improve the different wine brands exposure, in the marketplace and increase sales of the wine products.




They will perform a wide range of marketing activities to achieve these goals, including developing marketing strategies, creating an advertising plan, performing market research, and planning media engagement. The wine manager will report directly to the Managing Director.




*Responsibilities* :


• Market analysis, opportunity identification and brand strategy.




• Working with both the sales team and the managing director to look for opportunities within the wine market and create plans to capitalise on those opportunities. They will also identify market trends and support new product development to meet those trends.




• To improve the profitability of the wine lines, the manager will analyse the wine industry market segments and develop the appropriate marketing strategies to increase sales in those segments.




• Prepare market reports for Managing Director.




• The wine marketing manager must analyse market conditions and prepare insightful reports on customers, consumers, pricing, volumes and the competitive landscape.






• The wine marketing manager will perform regular market audits and analysis of market information to determine how well marketing strategies are performing. They will make changes on those results.




*Education* :


The Brand manager must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or marketing. They can also have a certificate in a related business or marketing discipline. An added advantage is a qualification from the wine industry.




*Work Experience* :


The Brand manager is a senior role and should have strong experience in marketing. Ideally, they should have some experience in the food and beverage industry. Must have strong experience in marketing and brand management, ideally 3+ years working in marketing.




*Key Skills*

• Leadership skills and the ability to drive improvement within the business.


• Excellent organisational and planning skills.


• Intellectual curiosity and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to be creative and innovative when creating marketing plans and marketing materials.




*Additional* : Must be well versed with knowledge of wine lines like KWV, Four Cousins, Van Loveren.
