As a Volunteer Receptionist you will be the first port of call for our visitors at New Wortley Community Centre. You will be the first impression of the organisation and will be relied on to create a good impression. You will need to have a good rapport with many different types of people helping them to feel looked after and at ease. What skills can you learn?
- Customer service skills
- Communication skills
- Referring skills
- Basic office administration skills
- Internal and external training relevant to the roles
- Time management skills What tasks are included?
- Answering the phone
- Letting people in and out of the building
- Greeting visitors in a welcoming and friendly manner, and directing them to the right location
- Keep reception area clean and tidy
- Providing general clerical and administrative report as required
- Maintaining a professional working environment in the reception area. Key Responsibilities
- Basic admin skills greeting and welcoming the public and other organisation
- Have a warm, calm, friendly manner that reflects NWCC ethos
- Have a responsible approach to health and safety and monitoring
- Happy to undertake any training if necessary
- Patience with those who are unable to communicate clearly or less confident
- Represent NWCC in a professional manner
- Able to work according to volunteer policies and procedures
- Monitoring those entering and exiting the building
- Have a reasonable level of English and Maths skills
- Be able to respond appropriately to different situations and maintain confidentiality This role is suitable for someone who has experience of working with the public and can be professional and welcoming some basic admins skilled are desirable but not essential. A willingness to learn, be a part of a team is essential. As a volunteer you will be entitled to travel and lunch expenses
