Established in 1987, Population Services Zimbabwe (PSZ) is an affiliate of MSI Reproductive Choices, and is one of the largest specialised Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) organisations in Zimbabwe. PSZ complements the Ministry of Health and Child Care in the provision of quality, and affordable general health and SRH services in all provinces of Zimbabwe. In line with its expansion strategy, PSZ seeks to expand its talent pool to include the following


The role 

  • The quality and training officer is a clinician responsible for conducting training and continuous supportive supervision for clinical staff.
  • The incumbent assists in setting up, conducting, facilitation and documentation of clinical and non-clinical training in Population Services Zimbabwe as per national / MSI / WHO guidelines. The training officer also enforces organizational adherence to clinical guidelines and conducts competency assessments on service providers.


Key responsibilities

  • The incumbent will be responsible for the following among other duties: Facilitating and conducting of PSZ / MSI trainings for all the service delivery channels; Coordinating external trainings from major stake holders such as Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC), Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC) and other partners;
  • Training through provision of technical support to all clinical and non-clinical personal in all service delivery channels of PSZ - Centres, Outreach, Social Franchise and Public Sector;
  • Creation of training materials for in-house courses;
  • Assisting in developing of effective clinical induction programmes for new clinical staff;
  • Conducting of post training follow up for all training conducted through supportive supervision and competency assessments; Maintaining, updating databases and training records for all trainings conducted for clinical and non-clinical staff; Maintaining in-house training facilities and equipment in good order; Collecting feedback from trainers and trainees after each training session and development of action plans;
  • Monitor the performance of MEM mock drills by clinical teams and assist in development of action plans;
  • Writing reports and presentations for all training and quality related activities done monthly, quarterly and annually.


Qualification

  • To succeed in this role, you must have: Diploma / Degree in Nursing; Certificate in Short and Long Acting Reversible Family Planning (FP) methods;
  • Certificate in Trainer of trainers in FP;
  • MCAZ Forensic License; Quality assurance; Sexual reproductive health training;
  • Health / nursing education;
  • Nursing lecturer / tutor or trainer an added advantage;
  • Experience working in the NGO sector added advantage.
