Brief about the organization: An opportunity has arisen within an organization focusing on access to justice and human rights that seeks the services of a Project Officer for a 12 month contract with possibility of an extension.
Duties and responsibilities
- Monitors program implementation in house and by various partner organisations;
- Manages performance including coaching and mentoring;
- Conducts research and advocacy initiatives;
- Compiles programme reports and any other reports required by supervisor;
- Represents the organisation at meetings with various stakeholders including line Ministries and funding partners;
- Participates in fundraising initiatives including drafting of proposals and concept notes.
- Knowledge of human rights and access to justice issues;
- Ability to track and monitor compliance by various partner organisations with set standards and procedure in terms of project implementation;
- Excellent research and writing skills;
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and must be proficient in both oral and written English;
- Sharp analytical and verbal reasoning skills;
- Ability to work and interact with marginalized and vulnerable communities and individuals;
- Ability to work with all stakeholders including funding partners, Consortium partners and Government departments;
- Ability to use the Microsoft suite of packages;
- Clean Class 4 Drivers license
- LLBS;
- Masters in Law/ Development Studies / Business Administration;
- Proven work experience in the civil society sector, internal and donor reporting and a good understanding of donor requirements;
