Duration: 12 months – Fixed term contract
A vacancy has arisen within DanChurchAid for Programmes Intern based in Harare. DanChurchAid (DCA) is an international organisation working in Zimbabwe through partnership with local organisations. DCA is seeking the services of a well-qualified Programmes Graduate Intern for its programmes currently being implemented in partnership with local NGO partners.
Purpose of the Position
Incumbent is expected to provide support towards implementation of projects in compliance with donor/grant requirements and DCA humanitarian standards. The Incumbent will provide support across all DCA thematic areas namely humanitarian response, livelihoods and active citizenship. The role will provide insight and experience in development and humanitarian programming, partnership and relationship management functions as well as administration and team support within the context of an international humanitarian organization.
Key responsibility
Support the programme team with in updating follow up tools (Projects and Proposals, follow up tables) on a continuous basis; Produce / review project related tools and processes (project codes, factsheets, kick off meetings, reporting reviews); Contribute to Project reports and Proposal development and review; Assist with reviewing proposals and compile feedback; Assist with drafting / reviewing project reports; Develop / consolidate project performances; Support to Monitoring and Evaluation; Ensure at the onset of all projects that contractual deliverables are clear; Ensure all contractual deliverables are understood and incorporated into the monitoring plan; Ensure all contractual deliverables are clearly earmarked and consolidated at the end of the project cycle; Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly progress updates to the line manager; Perform any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
Completed a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Project Management or related fields in the last 2 years; Work experience would be an added advantage; Must be able to work in a team setting and function in a culturally diverse work environment; He/she should be able to implement measures designed to monitor and implement project quality; Ability to work in a challenging environment and deliver the desired results; Self-starter and ability to work with minimum supervision.
