Gala-way Management Services has been retained by one of its clients –a local leading manufacturing company, to recruit and select suitable candidates for the following position

Job Purpose

To lead the business in the effective and efficient sourcing and procurement of goods and services for the company.

Main Duties 

 Explores new and alternative sources of supply both locally, regionally and internationally to increase supplier base.  Conducts supplier performance evaluation to ensure maximum supplier optimization

 Carries out supplier appraisal to check manufacturing, technical and financial capabilities to ensure the organization is dealing with credible suppliers only.

 Develops good supplier relationship through correct product specification, correct trading terms and good payment records

 Runs tenders and other orthodox supplier selection mechanisms

 Ensures the right goods and services are bought at the right time, from the right source, at the right price

 Ensures all imports come through a route efficient and cost managed channel

 Plans for the timely purchase of all company goods and services and ensures no stock outs of any required goods or services  Forecasts for all purchased items in liaison with the user departments

 Puts in place and superintends the company’s policies, systems and processes to ensure effective purchasing

 Supervision of the Procurement department to ensure that all its goas and targets are met. 

Qualifications

 A degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Logistics.

 A Post graduate qualification (e.g., MBA /MSC)

 A minimum of 5 years’ related working experience.
