FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC BUSINESS, MUSICOLOGY & TECHNOLOGY
Post: Musical Instrument Instructor (Harare Campus)
Qualifications and experience
The candidate should have at least a bachelor’s degree in Music from a recognized university.
A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar position.
KEY COMPETENCIES
●Vast knowledge in Organology.
●Competence in playing Strings, woodwinds, brass and African indigenous
musical instruments.
●Knowledge in Orchestration and Jazz ensemble performance practice.
●Knowledge playing Zimbabwean indigenous musical instruments.
●Competence in sight reading
Duties & Responsibilities
Planning and preparing practical lessons in relation to individual students’ needs and examination syllabuses.
Acquiring appropriate teaching materials and resources for musical instrument instruction.
Teaching musical instrument performance skills, aural skills and practical techniques to students.
Instructing students on the theoretical and philosophical aspects of musical instruments
Entering and preparing students for examinations.
