Department: CO Zimbabwe
Reporting to: Monitoring and Evaluation Manager
Duration: 3 months with possibility of extension
Location: Bulawayo

Position Summary
The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will work closely with communities and beneficiaries involved in the urban resilience project to ensure appropriate targeting and selection, registration, price monitoring, value chains and other day to day monitoring of resilience building activities. Responsibilities will include monitoring visits, documentation of success stories, routine data collection, data analysis and quality assurance, timely and accurate reporting of activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop targeting and monitoring tools.
- Perform day to day monitoring activities to collect information from project participants and verify effectiveness of the project.
- Train and supervise enumerators in collecting both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Conduct price and value chain monitoring and analysis at project sites.
- Complete all monitoring and targeting reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist and the senior field officer and project manager with report writing.
- Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as determined by DCA guidelines.
- Actively engage beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of field projects, in-line with international standards guiding international relief and development work.
Skills and Qualifications
- BSC Degree in Statistics, M&E, Economics or Social Sciences.
- Minimum of 3 years proven experience in a similar scope and environment.
- Good written and spoken English, Shona and or Ndebele required.
- Practical and theoretical knowledge in program monitoring and data collection methods including interview techniques required.
- Quantitative skills including knowledge of basic statistics and mathematics required.
- Experience in monitoring resilience interventions or Food for Assets (FFA) interventions will be required.
- Proficiency in statistical and database applications and Microsoft Office applications e.g. SPSS, Excel is required.
- Attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work in a team setting and function in a culturally diverse work environment whilst delivering desired results.
- Comfort and ability to talk to and interview project participants while professionally representing DCA.Self-starter and ability to work with minimum supervision.
