At Fixstrands Consultants, we are looking for an ICT Officer to start In January 2021. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and troubleshooting all network and computer-related issues;
- Maintaining client databases and provide basic data analysis procedures like data mining;
- Integrate security, physical control solutions for all confidential data and systems;
- Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users;
- Integrate and configure computer networking for best performance;
- Troubleshoot and repair of hardware, operating systems and applications;
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks;
- Identify security gaps and provide relevant solutions
- Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment;
- Enhance office IT system through appropriate upgrades and advise Operations Unit on changes or improvements required;
- Help install and support of all ICT hardware and software;
This opportunity is offered on a contract basis, 1-year contracts, which are renewed after every 11 months.
The minimum requirements are:
- Postgraduate degree in statistics/demography/economics/data analytics or other relevant areas is an added advantage
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a related field
- Thorough familiarity with principles and current approaches to M&E – including skills in basic data analysis and interpretation using ICT4D and implementing accountability and learning systems
- Experience working in an emergency context
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and data analysis software platforms, (e.g., SPSS, EPI-Info, Access).
- Ability to work in a team and support concurrent projects/assignments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Proven experience of mentoring and capacity building of team/partners including training facilitation skills
- Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in a demanding situation
- Assessment, analytical and planning skills
- A capacity and desire to pass on skills and information, a confident communicator and willing to work collaboratively and respectfully with the beneficiaries.
- Experience of working with local partners including local authorities’/settlement leadership
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in changing situations
- Experience of working effectively within a big international agency (I/NGOs)
- Willingness to be based in Harare
- Member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers is an added advantage
