Duration: 10 months – Fixed term contract
A vacancy has arisen within DanChurchAid for an ICT Coordinator based in Harare. DanChurchAid (DCA) is an international organisation working in Zimbabwe through partnership with local organisations. DCA is seeking the services of a well-qualified personnel for its programmes currently being implemented in partnership with local NGO partners.
Purpose of the Position.
The ICT Coordinator will ensure timely coordination and provision of ICT services to all DCA departments. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing a well-coordinated system with sufficient controls, taking lead in recommending and or developing ICT systems that enhance management of data support systems in the organization and ensuring compliance to applicable internal controls and best practice as laid out in DCA policies and procedures. He/she will ensure that information systems offer the highest level of reliability and accuracy while ensuring that data integrity and security is guaranteed. The incumbent will work closely with all departments, ensuring an efficient and effective ICT system is maintained. The incumbent will work closely with the Research, Programme teams and partner staff to provide ICT-related technical backstopping whenever required. The project the incumbent will be involved is humanitarian in nature, specifically targeting low-income urban and peri-urban domains.
Key responsibilities
Ensure that information systems offer the highest level of reliability and accuracy while ensuring that data integrity and security is guaranteed. In addition, offering high level of efficient service in terms of data entry, processing and retrieval; Work closely with Data Analyst team to develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality at organisational level; Coordinate and provide leadership for new system development and implementation and current system enhancements and improvement and to review, evaluate and develop proposals for new hardware/software and/or upgrades as appropriate; Interpret and ensure application of ICT policies, procedures, rules and regulations in line with HFH global and country specific ICT environment. Ensuring that these policies are well articulated to staff and compliance is enforced in liaison with other departments; Develop and implement a secure and effective information sharing and communication platforms across the organization; Provide on-call support for staff including but not limited to password resets, account creations, account terminations, desktop and laptop configurations and printer support; Identify the organization’s long term ICT requirements that will support and deliver the organization’s business plans; Ensure proactive measures are taken to have uninterrupted services from vendors; Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Knowledge and Skills
BSC in Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics; Proven working experience as an ICT Coordinator, preferably in NGO sector; Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques; Excellent report writing and presenting findings; Sharp time management skills and ability to meet deadlines; Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
