Job Description


This role helps to foster self-reliance, care for the poor and the needy, and provide opportunities for giving and service by: helping members become economically and emotionally self-reliant; providing access to essential food and clothing items, helping members prepare for and respond to disasters; and providing humanitarian aid to relieve suffering; thus furthering the mission of the Church. This position provides support to a specific program within Welfare Services. This support may include project planning, technical expertise in conceptualizing and producing audio-visual, written and other materials for Church-wide distribution and within the Welfare Department. Facilitates training and consulting with ecclesiastical leaders, employees and volunteers to answer questions and identify resources outside of the Welfare department. Each program may have additional purposes unique to the program.


Responsibilities


  • Provide oversight for humanitarian project implementation to ensure strict compliance with policies, procedures, standards, timeliness, cost-effective and high-quality delivery of project activities.
  • Ensure efficient logistics management for timely project delivery by overseeing procurement contracting, implementation, and evaluation of employed goods, supplies, and services.
  • Ensure strong accountability to beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
  • Organize planning meetings with relevant parties to develop an annual work-plan and corresponding budget plan with clearly stated milestones contributing to the achievement of target outputs defined in the Area Humanitarian Annual Plan.
  • Liaise with and foster strategic relationships with government and other local partners, as needed.
  • Develop and update quarterly work plans and expenditure plans based on the agreed annual work-plan.
  • Organize regular meetings collaborating organisations, services providers, and stakeholders to assess work progress, discuss challenges and constraints, and provide guidance and support.
  • Ensure systematic and effective implementation of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning programmes including but not limited to extensive and regular field visits to humanitarian project locations and implementing corrective measures to keep projects on the right track for achieving the planned results.


Qualifications


  • Must be in possession of a Current Temple Recommend and/or be worthy of one.
  • Must be in possession of a three-year degree in Humanities and/or any business related.
  • Proven willingness to serve and help others, with excellent Project Management skills.
  • Must have at least 5 years of related/relatable work experience.
  • Must be familiar with the use remote meeting software when face-to-face meetings are not possible, and have advanced office skills, highly efficient with computerized business applications (spreadsheets, tables, forms, charts, etc.), and have good research, analytical and data summation skills.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work within a team.
