Human Resources Administrator
The above vacancy has arisen within an organisation running a progressive school and member of the Association of Trust Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the complete HR function for the organisation, with an employee complement of about 100. There is a definite opportunity to grow with the organisation for the right candidate. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Development, recommendation and implementation of human resources (HR) policies, initiatives and systems.
- Managing the talent value chain, that is, attraction/recruitment/selection, onboarding/induction/probation, deployment, retention and separation.
- Managing the smooth implementation of the performance management system and recommending performance improvement initiatives.
- Managing staff training to ensure the development of employee competencies aligned to the organisation's objectives.
- Performing the HR administration function, including producing monthly and ad hoc reports, drafting correspondence, employment contracts, agreements, termination notices, administering employee leave and attendance etc., and record keeping ensuring safe-keeping and ease of retrieval.
- Job design and description to ensure that all positions have up-to-date job descriptions.
- Managing employee and industrial relations including participating in and advising employees and management on issues relating to the works council, the NEC and discipline management, while ensuring that the conditions of service and HR policies comply with the legislative requirements.
- Managing the employee reward, compensation and benefits system, ensuring that it complies with the organisation's policies.
- Managing the complete payroll cycle, from payroll input, processing, reporting and the
payment of statutory bodies and third parties.
- Acting as the Principal Officer of the Organisation's pension fund.
- Coordinating the management of employee health and safety.
Work/Educational Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in HR or behavioural sciences from a recognised university.
- A diploma in HR from IPMZ or studying towards the same.
- At least five years of proven working experience of managing the complete HR value chain at HR administrator/officer level.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office and IT skills required in the digital age.
- Proficiency in Belina Payroll, knowledge of ZIMRA systems is a distinct advantage.
Personal, leadership and business competencies
- Good organisational skills, time-management problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
- Good communication, interpersonal skills and ability to form working relationships with people at all levels.
- High level of ethics and reliability.
- Commercial awareness, numerical skills and attention to detail.
