The role is instrumental in the development, implementation and accountability of the overall employee’s wellness and provision of support and counselling to staff members. |

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities (Key Performance Areas)
•Oversee the development, review and advises on interpretation as well as implementation of equitable and transparent HR policies, procedures, and guidelines, contracts, conditions of service etc.; and ensure consistency and uniform applications of terms and conditions across the Airline.
•Advises on employee relations in general and on specific disciplinary and grievance issues, briefs attorneys on disputes and disciplinary matters as required.
•Establishes and maintains procedures and standards for communications, consultations and negotiations to promote positive employee relations within Air Botswana and ensure meaningful flow of information at all levels in the organization.
•Plans and Coordinates Employee Relations activities and the provision of wellness for staff on general well-being of employees to facilitate high output.
•Develops, Implements and Monitors initiatives on employee engagement and organizational climate surveys and other mechanisms for identifying potential problem areas and issues which may result in grievances or disputes.
•Prepares strategies and represents Air Botswana management in negotiations and engages regularly with staff representatives and Union at formal and informal level to promote constructive relations and takes a pro-active approach to employee relations.
•Advises management on sound employee relations and the equitable application of Air Botswana’s employment policies and practices and terms and conditions of employment.
•Minimises and/or maintains zero costs to the Airline pertaining to employee grievances, litigation and takes appropriate action to assist in the resolution of grievances at the lowest possible level within the organization to the mutual satisfaction of employees and the organization.
•Liaise with Legal Services on labour relations issues and seek legal advice and assistance on labour and industrial relations matters; and represent the Airline together with Legal Services at external mediation hearings as delegated, to articulate and defend the position of the Airline.
•Select mediators or arbitrators for labour disputes or contract negotiations; and / or mediate between Air Botswana and employee representatives in attempt to reconcile differences.
•Participate in development of short- and long-term strategies, plans and budgets for the Department. |

Requirements |
Minimum Education required
A recognized Degree in Human Resources or equivalent is required.
Minimum Experience required
At least eight (8) years HR experience post-qualification. This includes a minimum of 4 years in a line management position. |
