Introduction
Childline is a registered non-profit organization and has been operating since 1997. Childline provides a 24hour child friendly reporting and counselling platform through is 116 free phone. Childline Zimbabwe seeks to champion the rights of children through mitigation and protection initiatives designed to protect children in realisation of our vision to create 'a Zimbabwe that is passionate about the protection of children, championing, guarding and protecting their rights.' Childline aims at ensuring that children are free of harm especially the girl child that still remains vulnerable to gender based violence.
With financial support from USAID through FACT Zimbabwe under the DREAMS/CT project, Childline Zimbabwe seeks to develop a manual that will be used to facilitate community symposiums that will address Gender Based Violence issues within communities and influence a change in attitude and understanding of GBV issues. This therefore results in a reduction in GBV offenses as well and quick and swift reporting and handling of GBV cases.
Qualifications and experience
The qualifications and experience required is as follows; Advanced University Degree in Social Sciences or similar field; Minimum five years of substantial experience in GBV programming; Demonstrable knowledge and experience in documentation of gender issues, gender expertise and sensitivity to gender issues; Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of GBV programming and in Zimbabwe and internationally; Excellent communication and writing skills
