World Education Inc. / Bantwana (WEI/B) is an international non-governmental organization working towards social change for vulnerable children, women, families and communities in Zimbabwe. Through partnerships with national and local governments as well as local community-based and faith-based organisations, WEI/B works to build the human resource capacity needed for Zimbabwe to take ownership and leadership of sustained systems that are critical for delivering child protection, social protection, education and health services to its beneficiaries. Having been in operation in the country since 2008, WEI/B leverages its extensive knowledge of Zimbabwe’s OVC context and operational landscape to address the long-term needs of vulnerable children and their families. World Education Inc. / Bantwana (WEI/B) will be supporting the Department of Social Welfare and its partners to implement a Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) component of the National Case Management System supported by the Child Protection Fund (CPF). This will be implemented in 15 districts namely Mbire, Chitungwiza, Zaka, Chivi, Rushinga, Mutare Rural, Chipinge, Buhera, Lupane, Binga, Epworth, Mudzi, Mwenezi, Gokwe North and Chimanimani. Position Summary Reporting to the National Coordinator, the Child Protection Humanitarian Coordinator will work to provide technical support to the Department of Social Welfare and partner organizations on child protection and related case management within the National Case Management Framework. Major Responsibilities Capacity strengthening of Department of Social Welfare subnational structures and District Child Protection Committees on Child protection in emergencies; Support district child protection committees to develop and implement disaster preparedness plans; Support the monitoring and surveillance of child protection issues at district level; Support Provinces and Districts to conduct monthly trend and caseload analyses and come up with district-specific interventions that relate to risk reduction in emergencies; Adapting global CPiE training material to the Zimbabwean context to come up with a; Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures for case management in the context of emergencies; Troubleshooting on emerging issues; Using district feedbacks and reports to come up with a consolidated report with strong recommendations for the child protection Cluster; Technical backstopping in the implementation of the humanitarian response; Network and represent WEI at various child protection forums / stakeholders’ meetings such as the humanitarian Cluster Meetings and other networking platforms; Maintain good relations with the DSW district staff and other related partners in the project; Support the coordination of multiple stakeholders Qualifications, Experience and Key Competencies Required First degree in Social Work or any other relevant social science degree from a recognized and reputable institution. An advanced degree is an added advantage; 5 years of progressive professional experience, 2 of which must be at middle management level; Demonstrated 3+ years’ experience in a Humanitarian context; Proven experience in the design, implementation and management of Humanitarian programs at subnational levels and experience in working with different stakeholders, including experience in leading coordination efforts; Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills; Knowledge of humanitarian frameworks and policies, standards and guidelines; Strong writing skills; Proven ability to develop and maintain partnerships with government and knowledge of capacity building initiatives and skills transfer; Ability to represent the organization at different levels; Talented, critical thinkers and innovators who are able to work independently, take initiative and leadership; Clean class 4 driver’s license
