Brief History
Seke Rural Home Based Care (SRHBC) was founded in 2001 and was registered under the Private Voluntary Organizations Act (PVO 5/2007) as a local NGO. The local residents of Seke community formed SRHBC to meet the needs of the terminally and chronically ill patients, people living with HIV, and the bereaved. The organizational focus is on Palliative care, Child protection, women’s rights, Orphans and Vulnerable Care (OVC), Pediatric Antiretroviral Treatment (ART), Prevention of Mother To Child Transmission (PMTCT), Economic Strengthening, Lobbying and advocacy for Key Populations and other vulnerable groups, Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (ASRHR) and Gender Based Violence (GBV).
SRHBC works to compliment the government of Zimbabwe’s efforts in mitigating the impact of HIV, in OVC care, maternal care and women empowerment. This is done through strong collaboration with line Ministry of Health and Child Care, Ministry of Women affairs, gender and community development, Department of Social Services, Ministry of Primary and Secondary education, Zimbabwe Republic Police (VFU), Ministry of Youths, Indigenization and Economic empowerment at community level and District level.
Organizational Goal
SRHBC envisions a dignified community that is self-sustained through ensuring social equity. Our mission is provision of sustainable livelihoods, hospice services and education through community and family based gender sensitive approaches to marginalized communities and those infected and affected by HIV. The organization operates in Mashonaland East Province under the following Districts: Seke-Manyame District and Marondera District.
Call for auditors
SRHBC is implementing a program for children 0-9 years living with HIV in five wards of Marondera rural community. The program seeks to identify children between 0-9 years exposed to HIV and living with HIV that have unknown statuses so that they get tested and get linked into care.SRHBC receives funding for its projects from various funding partners both local and international.
