A company in the FMCG market is looking for a Brand Manager. The main objective of the brand manager is to ensure that Spirits and Juice, sales goals are met. The Spirit lines include alcoholic beverages including, but not limited to whisky’s, Vodkas, Gins and Cognacs and a mix of assorted juices.
The brand manager achieves objectives by creating highly detailed marketing strategies and sales plans. They are also responsible for organising advertising campaigns, managing sales staff, organising promotional events, and discovering new sales opportunities. The Brand manager will report directly to the Managing Director.
*Responsibilities* :
The key responsibilities for the brand manager include:
• Develop a sales plan for the product lines – They must develop a comprehensive sales plan with marketing strategies for each product line, customer demographic analysis, sales forecasts, and growth strategies. The sales plan will also examine pricing structure, revenue goals, sales locations, customer retention strategies, advertising avenues, and sales team activities.
• Create a sales strategy for the product lines.
• Manage sales and promotional events. The branding manager must ensure these events are well-run and promote the product lines in the best way possible.
• Analyse customer demographics and market trends, analysing the demographics of both current and prospective customers. This information will be used for developing market strategies and new products.
• Design and distribute marketing materials – They will work in conjunction with the sales teams to produce advertising and marketing materials. The brand manager may also be required to work with third party advertising agencies. Once a plan for promotional materials has been developed, they must ensure it is correctly executed.
*Education* :
They should have a bachelor’s degree in marketing or business. Ideally, they will have a qualification or certificate in the related field.
*Experience* :
The Brand manager is a senior role and should have strong experience in marketing. Ideally, they should have some experience in the food and beverage industry. Must have strong experience in marketing and brand management, ideally 3+ years working experience.
Ideally, the sales and marketing manager will have:
• Experience in managing people – The Brand manager must have experience in organising a team, delegating responsibility and assigning staff to roles.
• Experience in planning marketing campaigns – Previous experience in creating marketing campaigns from planning through to implementation.
• Sales report experience – A great deal of the Brand managers time is spent preparing sales reports, researching markets and analysing customers. They should have a number of years working in the industry and a thorough understanding of how to market and sell beverages.
*Skills*
• Very high-level written and communication skills.
• Public speaking skills.
• Very personable and capable of persuading people.
*Additional* : Must be well versed with knowledge of alcoholic beverages like Jameson. Absolut Vodka, Jägermeister.
