The role holder is responsible for managing sales and driving business growth for our integrated Crop Protection (CP) and Maize Seeds offering in the Central Region of Zimbabwe to increase market share and profitability. This includes acting as the main point of contact for farmers, distributors, agro-dealers, government field extension agents, and other key stakeholders in the demarcated sales area, and coordinate internal processes to ensure customer needs are met.



Major Tasks and Responsibilities


Guide the sales team in the sales area and develop their capabilities to ensure regular feedback, effective customer engagement, satisfactory delivery of customer value, and drive results.

Develop ambitious and consistent sales plan in line with country strategic objectives and Go To Market strategy.

Contribute in preparation and updating of sales forecasts and budgets, and regular reporting on achievement of sales targets.

Ensure delivery of forecasted results according to the set KPIs and take timely corrective actions in case of deviations from the plan.

Collaborate with other functions to effectively respond to opportunities, issues, market changes including competitor moves, and make adjustments to tactics as required.

Provide agronomic support and advice to existing and prospective customers/farmers within the three key farmer segments of large scale commercial, medium emerging, and smallholder farmer segments.

Update farmers with technical information on Bayer products through social media farmer groups.

Plan and deliver presentations through farmer/customer days and market engagement activities.

Provide after sales customer service at distributor and farmer levels, and appropriate product stewardship support to build trust and increase customer loyalty.

Manage customer complaints and ensure timely resolution of customer complaints.

Effectively monitor seed and CP inventory at distributor and agro-dealer levels to ascertain the level of inventory in the distribution channel at any given time, balancing sell-in and sell-out.

Take full accountability of debt collection from distributors and agro-dealers.


Experience /Qualification


Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences.

At least 5 years of working experience in sales or marketing, preferably in the agriculture industry.

Experience supervising junior sales staff.

Track record in leading people and effective teams.

Strong customer focus.

Excellent organization skills.

Strong business acumen.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Strong written and oral communication skills.
