Duration of employment: 3 months full time (Mid February 2020 – End May 2020)
Location where study activities will be conducted: Community work in Chitungwiza including recruitment in Primary and Secondary Schools
Study Aim: The Y-CHECK study is aiming to develop a screening and referral package to for routine health check-ups for adolescents in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe.
Qualifications
Previous qualitative research experience is required; A university degree (Social Sciences, Arts) or other qualification is desirable; Excellent verbal and written Shona and English fluency.
Responsibilities
Recruiting and obtaining informed consent from study participants; Conducting participatory workshops with study participants; Conducting qualitative interviews, transcripts, and assisting in data analysis; Liaising with other members of the study team; Maintaining accurate data collection records; To carry out other tasks which may occasionally be necessary appropriate to the post, as determined by the line manager.
Personal characteristics required
High personal motivation and self-management; Enthusiasm and willingness to learn and accept feedback; Confident, communicator who can work comfortably with diverse groups of people; Ability to work with adults and children; Excellent time management; Reliable, diligent, detail-oriented worker who can see tasks through to completion; Accurate, honest, dependable and flexible; Excellent problem-solving skills; Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills; Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle and protect sensitive data with integrity; Ability to work with limited supervision and on own initiative; Ability to establish rapport with a variety of colleagues and to work flexibly with the line manager.
