Fans came out in their numbers to bid farewell to Zimdancehall chanter Soul Musaka who is also known as Soul Jah Love amid the current lockdown regulations.

As the body was being taken to his family house in Msasa Park this afternoon, some fans could be seen running along with the funeral convoy.

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa yesterday sent a message of condolences to the Musaka family following the death of award-winning Zimdancehall musician Soul Muzavazi Musaka, popularly known as Soul Jah Love by his legion of fans.

Some fans were seen singing along to some of Soul Jah Love’s songs especially “Kana ndafa” as they were celebrating the life of the late musician

Soul Jah Love will be buried tomorrow at Warren Hills Provincial Heroes Acre in Harare after he was declared a liberation hero. The decision to grant liberation hero status on Soul Jah Love by President Mnangagwa has been described as befitting for a young man whose music inspired and resonated with youths across the political divide.

The chanter died on Tuesday at Mbuya Dorcas Hospital after a long battle with Sugar Diabetes. He was 31.

In a statement, Minister Mutsvangwa said the death of Soul Jah Love had robbed the music industry of a great chanter whose music had influence across generations.
