Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) a subsidiary of ZESA Holdings, is the leading generator of electrical energy in Zimbabwe and supplies the bulk of the nation’s electrical power requirements from its five power stations. The Company is inviting suitably qualified, motivated and experienced staff to fill the above-mentioned vacancy that has arisen in Zimbabwe Power Company.

Human Resources Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develops manpower policies and plans to ensure the number of people with the right skills and competencies is available to enable the Station to achieve its business objectives.
  • Partners with the Station management team to understand and execute the Station’s human resources and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, resourcing, retention, and succession planning.
  • Implements human resources policies and conditions of service.
  • Implements and processes all associated administrative controls for staff salary payments, loans management, staff benefits and remuneration-related issues.
  • Provides expert advice on the development and implementation of organisational structures that support business strategy.
  • Implements health and safety welfare policies and best practices including adherence to legislation aimed at promoting staff wellness and safeguarding the interests of the Station and its employees.
  • Responsible for leadership and coordination of organisational change initiatives.
  • Delivers performance management programs that drive high performance. culture Implements and monitors the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Mentors direct reports and provide coaching to help employees reach their potential. Produce reports on key metrics, including remuneration and benefits, absenteeism and turnover.
  • Ensures a harmonious industrial relations climate is maintained.
  • Responsible for the management of estates and transport.
  • Manages relationships with stakeholders in the Station’s areas of operation.
  • Executes all activities in line with the Integrated Management System requirements (ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015).

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5 ()’levels including Mathematics and English.
  • A Degree in Social Science/Administration or equivalent.
  • A Post Graduate qualification such as an MBL/ MBA or equivalent
  • Membership of a recognized professional Institution.
  • 8 years relevant experience of which 5 years should be at senior level.

Plant Maintenance Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

  •  Identifies potential capital projects on the basis of performance and plant deficiencies from operational reports,
  • Analyses all maintenance problems to determine plant modification, scrapping of plant and plant overhaul.
  • Prepares or draws up maintenance programmes for Planned Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance Programmes.
  • Conducts periodic plant inspections to determine rehabilitation programmes and specialist help requirements.
  • Attends to test run or commissioning of projects.
  • Devises control measures and contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Carries out physical plant checks to ensure good housekeeping and compliance to rules. Monitors and controls the departmental budget.
  • Responsible for discipline and performance management for the Maintenance Department.
  • Executes all activities in line with the Integrated Management System requirements (ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015).

Qualifications And Experience

  • 5 “O” levels including Mathematics and English.
  • A degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or any relevant Degree.
  •  A Post Graduate qualification such as an MBL/MBA or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Full membership of a recognized professional institution.
  • 8 years relevant experience in a similar environment of which 5 years should be at the senior level.

Operations Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensures effective plant performance monitoring to minimize forced outages and trips by analysing performance reports.
  • Coordinates outage planning and implementation to ensure good dispatch performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Conducts and reviews the Station authorization system and safety management periodically.
  • Prepares and updates the disaster plan, evacuation procedures and operating emergency procedures.
  • Develops and updates the departmental business plan for incorporating into the Station business plan.
  • Monitors adherence to the provisions of the Water Purchase Agreement.
  • Compiles the Capital and Revenue Expenditure Budget for the department.
  • Analyses variance reports trends and takes corrective measures.
  • Develops emergency operating procedures and systems to deal with abnormal situations and management of risks in the plant.
  • Responsible for discipline and performance management for the Operations Department.
  • Executes all activities in line with the Integrated Management System requirements (ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015).

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5 () levels including Mathematics and English.
  • A Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • A Post Graduate qualification such as an MBL/ MBA or equivalent.
  • Full Membership of a recognized professional Institution.
  • 8 years relevant experience of which 5 years should be at senior level
