Green Vision Trust ‘s Anti-Poaching Program: A Success Story in Glenorah Harare

In a heartening display of swift action and dedication to wildlife protection, the Anti-poaching team recently rescued a Leopard tortoise from illegal captivity in the Glenora high-density suburb. Acting on a tip-off, the team found the wild animal being fed with sadza and other human food items.

Under Zimbabwean law, it is a criminal offence to keep wild animals without a permit, which is issued solely by the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks). The tortoise was promptly handed over to Zimparks, which subsequently released it back into the wild, where it rightfully belongs.
