Applications are invited from highly competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions within the organization.

Position A: Systems Security Engineer (G5) x 1
Responsibilities
The incumbent will report to the Cyber Security Manager and will be responsible for the following, among other duties:
 Develop, implement a robust security infrastructure and framework to deal with current and emerging cyber, network or information systems threats
 Implement security measures for the organization’s networks and information systems
 Develop effective yet simple policies to assist system users in adhering to systems security protocols
 Lead in development and implementation of security and networks related business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
 Manage the organization’s applications that relate to networks and security e.g. VMWARE platform, DHCP server, Active Directory, Internet servers, network management utility applications etc.
 Develop an emergency response framework to be used in dealing with systems security emergencies
 Develop section risk matrix & implement measures to diminish identified risks
 Periodically perform security assessments/tests to determine vulnerabilities
within the company’s network and fix these vulnerabilities
 Ensure the systems security related issues in the ICT policy and standard
operating procedures are adhered to by both network administrators and end
users
 Research on trends & new systems security solutions to embracing these
 Design a security audit framework and periodically conduct security audits to
determine the effectiveness of security measures in place.
Qualifications and Experience
 Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
 Demonstrable passion and interest in network engineering and systems security.
 Cisco Network engineering/Microsoft/Linux Certification or current studies for
such certification is an added advantage
 Ability to multi-task and to work under
 Good documentation, written and verbal communication skills
 Ability to follow technology tends and new best practices in cyber and systems
security.

Position B: Systems Security Specialist (G6) x 1

The incumbent will report to the Systems Engineer – Systems Security and will be responsible for the following, among other duties :-

 Manage performance of perimeter security, anti-virus, anti-malware etc. solutions in place
 Develop and deploy a company-wide password management system to ensure use and maintenance of passwords to critical systems is done according to acceptable standards
 Design and deploy mechanisms to defend networks and systems against unauthorized access, modification and/or destruction
 Administer security tools such as firewalls, anti-virus software, patch management systems, etc.
 Configure and deploy e-mail gateway security as a first line defence to e-mail communication
 Define user access privileges, control structures and resources to use to enforce adherence to granted privileges and maintenance of established control structures
 Identify computer communication related abnormalities in the company and report violations as well as establishing appropriate remedies.
 Provide regular training to end users on security awareness, protocols and procedures
 Respond immediately to security incidents and provide post-incident analysis
 Perform appropriate security related upgrades to security software and
hardware
 Configure router port security, access-lists for security of Cisco Devices and
infrastructure servers
 Regularly update switch, router and security appliance software to ensure
software related vulnerabilities are curbed.
 Create network security standard operating procedures
 Maintain all documentation and manuals related to organisation’s network
and systems security.
 Determine potential telephony related vulnerabilities and establish appropriate
security measures to put in place to foil these vulnerabilities.
 Administer the organisation’s network and information systems security oriented disaster recovery and business continuity plan and regularly conducts recovery
and continuity tests to ensure plan works.
 Regularly update the organisation’s risk matrix with respect to network and
systems security

Qualifications and Experience

 Degree in Computer Science Electrical engineering, Information Technology, Network Engineering or equivalent.
 Demonstrable passion and interest in network engineering (WAN/LAN implementation, router and switch maintenance etc.) and systems security.
 Cisco Security certification or current studies to achieve same is an added advantage
 Possession of clean class 4 drivers’ licence an added advantage

Position C: Systems Engineer Networks – Gr (5) x1

The incumbent will report to the ICT Infrastructure Manager and will be responsible for the following, among other duties:
 Determine,designanddeploythemostappropriateWANandLANsolutionsfor the organization.

 Administer the organisation’s ICT infrastructure that includes Ethernet/Fibre based LANs, fibre/radio based WAN links, servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
 Developandupdatenetworksrelatedbusinesscontinuityanddisasterrecovery initiatives.
 Lead in the adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for administering active networking equipment, Internet servers (e-mail, DNS, etc.) on Windows and Linux platforms.
 Implement the organization’s network engineering aligned strategies to enhance user productivity through the use of ICT driven business tools.
 Together with security engineer, administer network security and networks’ related disaster recovery systems,
 Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
 Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
 Design, implement, & maintain VOIP phone system to include phone servers,
and phones.
 Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
 Maintaining firewalls, virtual private networks, web portal security, and e-mail
security.
 Perform first level investigation of intrusion and hacking incidents, collecting
incident responses, and carrying out forensic investigations.
 Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting network related end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral
devices.

Qualifications and Experience

 Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, telecommunications systems or equivalent.
 Demonstrable interest and hands-on relevant experience covering; configuration, deployment and maintenance of Cisco WAN and LAN equipment; working with internetworking devices and servers e.g. setting up and administering networking related configurations on routers, switches, firewalls, Windows Active Directory, Internet servers such as DNS, mail server; Network security.
 Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems
 Working knowledge of both mobile & fixed telephone networks, VoIP compliant
PABXs etc.
 Certification in CISCO, Microsoft or Linux is an added advantage.
 Ability to work under pressure and to work at odd hours.

Position D: Innovation and Digital Transformation Specialist (G6) x1

The incumbent will report to the Business Applications Manager and will be responsible for the following, among other duties:-
 Collect and analyse current and future digital transformation needs of the organisation in order to develop robust functional and technical specifications
 Uses research and data analysis to find changes/opportunities in the market.
 Be the organisation’s champion in the digitalisation and automation of
processes and products.

 Identify process weaknesses and obsolescence and suggests business process improvements using analytics and digital techniques.
 Monitoring the activity of competitors and recommend new best practices as gleaned from competition
 Leads in the development and deployment of ICT driven initiatives to fulfil organisation’s digital strategy
 Digitalization of existing (or new) products and services.
 Lead in the design, implementation, and monitoring of digital skill upskilling
programme for organisation’s employees
 Be the vital link between business users and the IT department for the
organisation
 Led in the evolution of existing applications (version upgrades, implementation
of the Cloud…) and processes
 Ensure the sustainability and stability of the systems developed.

Qualifications and Experience
 Degree in Business Studies and Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or any relevant Bachelor’s degree
 Ability to think innovatively, design and deliver client oriented digital solutions
 Ability to work with stakeholders to understand their need and build trusted
relationships
 Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams

Position E: Systems Developer (G6) x 1
Responsibilities

The Systems Developer shall report to the Database Systems Administrator and will be responsible for the following, among other duties:
 Lead in in-house systems development initiatives fir the organisation
 Manage the organisation’s websites, intranets and other application specific
software utilities
 Produce clean, efficient code for various systems based on scientific analysis, best
practice and user specifications
 Develop scripts in various platforms to solve specific business applications related
challenges
 Identify & recommend appropriate software tools as they appear on the market
 Integrate software components and third-party programs, verify and deploy
programs and systems
 Work together with innovation and business transformation specialist in realizing
the organisation’s digital transformation and innovation thrust
 Coordinate installation of software systems, troubleshoot, debug and upgrade
existing software to improve business operations
 Gather & evaluate user feedback concerning running systems/applications and
recommend improvements as necessary
 Create technical documentation for reference and reporting

 Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
 Lead in integration organisation’s systems with external third party systems
 Consult engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements, or resolve customer
problems.
 Analyse information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new
system or modification of an existing system.
 Manage the organisation’s database management systems to ensure they are

Position F: Helpdesk Administrator (G8) x 1

The Incumbent will be reporting to the Technical Support Manager and will be responsible for the following, among other duties:

Responsibilities:
 Acting as the first port of call for the IT department’s end user support function.
 Resolvingphoneande-mailbasedfirstlevelICTrelatedqueriesfromendusers.
 Logging ICT related end-user system faults.
 Regularly following up on the Finance department to ensure that payment for
rentals of WAN links and renewal of software licences is done in a timely fashion.
 Assigning work tickets to appropriate IT staff for resolution.
 KeepingtrackofunresolvedproblemsandfollowingtheseupwithrelevantITstaff
for resolution and cross-checking with end-users to ascertain that reported issues
have been resolved to their satisfaction.
 Escalating unresolved problems by operational IT staff to the Infrastructure,
Business Applications or Technical Support Manager as appropriate.
 Ensuring that IT department’s requisitions to the Procurement department
recorded, followed up on and expedited.
 Provide administration services to the IT department e. g requisition of
departmental office stationery and accessories from stores, maintaining an equipment register, maintaining the software licence inventory, preparation of

weekly and monthly management reports, minutes and maintaining the
equipment movement register within the IT department.
 Generate reports as needed to indicate patterns in user queries, resolution of
those queries and other support related issues.

Qualifications and Experience

 Degree or Higher National Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information systems.
 Experience in an Information Technology environment will be an added advantage.
 Demonstrable ability to multi-task, work under pressure and to appreciate diversity of end users.
 Clean class 4 drivers’ licence is an added advantage.

Position G: Systems Administrator (G6) x 1

The Incumbent will be reporting to the Database Systems Administrator and will be responsible for the following, among other duties:
 Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
 Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
 Perform regular security monitoring, applies operating system patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities, configure / add new services as necessary.
 Perform periodic (daily, weekly or monthly) performance reporting to support capacity planning.
 Partake in the enforcement of disaster recovery plans, reports, documentation and operational manuals
 Ensuring all software is properly licensed and up to date
 Perform regular file archival and purge (subject to approval) as necessary for all
Zimpost applications with great emphasis on mission-critical systems and
infrastructure.
 Repair and recover from hardware or software failures maintaining minimum
downtime as outlined in the IT policy document.
 Coordinate and communicate with impacted SBUs advising them on nature and
extend of failures and expected time for system to be back online.
 Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage
our resources and provide economies of scale.
 Read technical journals and/or manuals, attend vendor seminars and
appropriate professional development workshops to learn about the maintenance and use of emerging technology

Qualifications and Experience
 Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or other relevant qualification.

 Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in UNIX or Microsoft systems is an added advantage.
 Demonstrable passion, interest and possibly experience in systems administration.
 Knowledge of database management systems, operating systems, virtual machines, and scripting.
 Ability to understand financial and business issues as they relate to organisation
 Good problem-solving, analytical, administrative, organisational,
communication and interpersonal skills.

Position H: Area ICT Officer (G6) x 3 (Mashonaland, Bulawayo, Masvingo)
The Incumbent will be reporting to the Technical Support Manager will be responsible
for the following, among other duties:
 Deploys and upgrades computing, networking hardware and software, maintains
all ICT hardware and software at post offices in area of jurisdiction to ensure that
the network is capable of meeting the needs of the organisation
 Maintains WAN links for post offices in area of control and creates a rapport with
technical staff for service providers
 Implements ICT quality and security control systems, enforces user adherence to
standard ICTs operating procedures
 Develops and implement preventive maintenance schedules
 Provides technical support and training to end users especially when new systems
are being rolled out
 Investigates problems & other requests for support and determines appropriate
actions to take
 Responds to agreed plans to install or remove items of hardware and/or software
and reports details of all hardware/software items installed and removed so that
configuration management records can be updated.
 Ensures that disruptive situations in systems are identified and resolved quickly with
minimal disruption to users.
 Assists in managing external providers of ICT services ensuring they deliver a high
quality output on time and within budget.
 Represents the IT department at functions or forums in the area where Zimpost ICT
services are required.
 Undertakes such other duties as may be agreed from time to time with the Head
IT

Qualifications and Experience

 In depth knowledge of Windows 2003/2008 Server, Active Directory, Linux OS
 Good understanding of SQL 2005/2008, Progress Open Edge DBMS
 Hand-on experience with MS Suite configuration esp. MS Word and Outlook
 Understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VPN switches, firewalls and routers
 Microsoft and Cisco network engineering certification desirable
 Good network troubleshooting skills and experience working with network
management tools – knowledge of SolarWinds desirable
 To attend meetings and undertake work outside normal working hours, for the
efficiency of the services provided.
