Actor and rapper Big Zulu has vowed to confront Idols SA judge Somizi Mhlongo following the latter’s criticism of his hit song “Mali Eningi”.

Big Zulu was not impressed by what Somizi said about his chart-topping song during the KZN Entertainment Awards held at ICC Arena in Durban.

According to the media personality, he does not relate to the song at all because he is wealthy while the song speaks of wanting to have large amounts of money. Somizi then called on artists to write songs that accommodate everyone, because he felt that Mali Eningi is discriminatory against the wealthy

Responding to the comments, Big Zulu said that he is going to confront Somizi over the issue when the two meet. The rapper, whose real name is Siyabonga Nene,
insisted that he will not talk about Somizi in his absence and will only address the issue when the two meet.

Speaking to the Daily Sun, Big Zulu said,

“What Somizi said was his opinion and I will not entertain him. I will not talk about someone when they are not present as he did. I want to confront him and tell him what I think about his criticism. I don’t have a problem with him and I will address him when we meet,”

Big Zulu’s song, featuring Intaba Yase Dubai and Riky Rick, racked up more than 3 million views in three weeks on YouTube and it has become number one on iTunes downloads for three weeks.

Big Zulu also thanked fans of the song as well as Duduzane Zuma, the son of former president Jacob Zuma who made the song trend after he was seen walking with his crew while playing the song.
