Position:  WASH OFFICER

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="386"] iharare jobs[/caption] Job Description The WASH Officer is responsible for the smooth running of the software WASH aspects of the program in line with national and AAZ protocols.   He/she is expected to perform their duties according to standards of operation expected by AA, according to AA’s philosophy, principles and policies.  In particular, the incumbent will maintain the highest level of procedural transparency for the organization and its donors. The incumbent is expected to sign the Code of Conduct which describes the manner in which they should represent AA and behave in relation to other members of staff, project stakeholders and participants.  The officer should also be familiar with AA policies that relate to their work (ignorance of AA’s policies and procedures will not be considered an excuse in incidences of malpractice). The incumbent will work to a defined work plan with time-lines.  A description of duties is set out below.  However, other duties may be assigned, as appropriate, by the line-manager to enhance the smooth running of project in line with project and organizational goals. Oversee the effective implementation of the WASH software aspects of the project for Health Facilities which among others include; Have a good understanding and appreciation of both WASH software activities, Identifies and conducts trainings on PHHE and CHC formation and facilitates training of Health Care Staff on IPC Directly manage the day-to-day hygiene promotion activities in the field; Ensure that WASH hygiene promotion activities meet stated objectives within the timeframe, ensuring deadlines are met; Provide support in water, sanitation and hygiene promotion programming, in broad coordination with other sectors at Health Care Facilities; Work with WASH Engineer on mainstreaming gender, protection, and safeguarding in the design of and rehabilitation of Health Facilities Support the collaboration and coordination of software WASH issues at Health Facilities together with the government, local authorities, donors and other implementing agencies; Provide quality weekly and monthly reports timeously   Qualification A Minimum of a Degree in, Public Health, Environmental/Health Sciences, Development Studies or any other relevant discipline; Strong appreciation of and Software components in project implementation; At least 2 years’ experience in WASH emergency programmes working for an NGO in less privileged communities; Willing to work in remote locations.
