Voluntary Program At Charama Tourism Leisure & Conservancy March 2022
We are pleased to announce a new volunteer opportunity through a partnership between Green Vision Trust and Charama Leisure Resort & Conservancy.
This program, which will be in the form of camping in Charama Conservancy, is open to everyone above 18 years old who is passionate about wildlife and tourism. Our volunteer programme is tailored for those who look forward to entering into either tourism or wildlife fields. We have mentorship and on the job training.
After the program, selected ecologists, recruits and foresters will have the opportunity to join patrols, assist with security, boost the team size and share their wildlife passion through antipoaching crusades. Above all, we will link our volunteers to various Safaris and Estates.

Our Voluntary Tourism & Hospitality and Anti-Poaching Patrol Program at Charama Tourism Leisure & Conservancy in Kadoma, Zimbabwe can boost your tourism & wildlife experience. If you are not employed or a student looking forward to working in tourism and wildlife, this is something that can boost your CV as we are a recognized Tourism & Anti-Poaching institution.
SCHEDULED FOR: 19 to 23 March
During this Voluntary Program, our main emphasis will be on:
- BASIC BUSH AWARENESS
- FLORA & FAUNA
- ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
- HUMAN AND WILDLIFE CONFLICTS,
- CLIENTELE ETIQUETTE
- BASIC TOURISM AND CONSERVATION
- TRACKING
- GUIDING
- HUNTING
- FARM MANAGEMENT
- BUSH CAMPING
THIS PROGRAM IS WALKING INTENSIVE AND PARTICIPANTS MUST BE PREPARED TO WALK MEDIUM TO LONG DISTANCES PER DAY TO THOSE ON NATURAL SCIENCES UNLIKE THOSE FOR TOURISM WHO WILL BE MORE ON THEIR HOUSEKEEPING, FRONT OFFICE, BAR, KITCHEN, CATERING & STORES MANAGEMENT.
In summary, the programme is 20% theory and 80% practical, so most of your time will be spent in the field, gaining hands-on experience.
Natural Sciences crew will cover wildlife identification, animal behaviour and big game tracking skills, plus anti-poaching techniques. Youâll also learn the background behind the poaching industry and illegal wildlife trade. Study ecological relationships, wildlife law and bush survival.
Get a direct encounter with the animals and get experience with wild animals' behaviour
REQUIREMENTS:
Natural Sciences Section /Wildlife Section
- 18 years and above
- Physically fit
- Good eyesight
- Studying or studying towards a certificate or degree in Natural Sciences
- Looking forward to being a Ranger (must be physically fit NO QUALIFICATION needed)
Tourism & Hospitality Section
- Certificate, diploma or a degree in Tourism, food preparation or Travel & Recreation or those studying towards these programs
- Fluent in the English Language
- Able to work night shifts
