PERSON SPECIFICATION The candidate should possess the following key competencies: 2.1 Be a visionary leader with the skills to interpret and implement the University's Education 5.0 mandate within the broader context of the national agenda; 2.2 Be a holder of an earned Doctorate Degree in a Science or Engineering discipline from a recognized University. A Full or Associate Professorship would be an advantage; 2.3 Be an accomplished Higher Education Administrator with a proven track record for creating a technological, innovative learning, teaching and research environment to produce high-end skills; 2.4 Have at least 10 years experience of working with a high degree of success, in a senior position in a Tertiary or Higher Education or Research Institution; 2.5 Have a commitment to and substantial experience in networking, team building, fundraising/ resource mobilization and participation in development activities, nationally, regionally and internationally; 2.6 Have a demonstrable capacity to match the University's Research and Development output as well as enterprise development benefits to industry; 2.7 Be able to identify and promote the development and commercialization of emerging technologies to advance Zimbabwe's industrialization and modernization agenda; 2.8 Have proven experience in national and international policy-making;
