Background
The Centre for Conflict Management a Transformation was formed in 2003 to address conflicts which were prevalent at national and local level. Since its formation, CCMT places a lot of emphasis on the nonviolent resolution to conflicts. Over the past 5years, there have been internal staff changes, updating of organizational policies and evolving operating context. CCMT therefore seeks to update its human resources policy so that it is compliant with the labour law, practices and also accommodates diversity of staff professional and personal needs.
Purpose
To review and update the CCMT Human Resource Manual and align them with international best practices and the relevant and current Zimbabwe labour laws.
Objectives
Undertake review of the existing CCMT Human Resource Manual in comparison with other similar manuals used by organisations in the CSO sector, identifying gaps and weaknesses. The consultant/s will develop all tools deemed necessary for conducting a review and/or development of the current policies. Consolidate all human resources policies, procedures, practices and documentation into separate single documents for ease of reference.
Consultant Technical Requirement
The consultant should have the following: A minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in human resource management, at least three years of which should have been closely involved in HR Policy development; Previous work in developing NGO organisational policies.
CCMT roles
CCMT shall provide the Consultant with the information necessary for the performance of the service; Arrange meetings with respective CCMT staff.
Consultant Roles and Responsibilities
The Consultant will be required to provide the following during the execution of the assignment: Inception report detailing the proposed methodology and agreed work plan submitted within 5 days from the date of signing the contract; With the support of the CCMT Management, collate practices and documentations that are used and that need to be brought into the HR policy document.
Deliverables
The consultant is expected to produce the following critical outputs/deliverables: Draft consolidated HR policy submitted to CCMT management for review within 14 working days from acceptance of the inception report and work plan; Final HR policy integrating comments from CCMT management.
