Job Summary
Town Planning Technician (Grade 9) The Town Planning Technician reports to the Executive Officer Planning.Duties And Responsibilities
Preparation of Layout plans for various land uses Assist in preparation of Master, Local and Concept Plans in terms of the RTCP Act (CAP 29:12) Maintenance and updating of change of use registers Manning the drawing office and taking good custody of all drawings Digitizing and mapping of all properties under the jurisdiction of Council in GIS Development control Site selection, pegging and site plan production for different land uses in consultation with the Planner Beacon relocation and peg search Any other duties assigned by the E.O. PlanningQualifications And Experience
• A Diploma from a recognized tertiary institution in Rural and Urban Planning, Regional and Urban Development or equivalent • Thorough knowledge of and skill in draughting software such as Autocad, Sketch Up and Archicad and aptitude in both 20 and 30 is a must. Knowledge of GIS is an added advantage At least three years post qualification experience Local Government experience is a must A clean class 4 driver's licence Must have a clean record of service within the Local Government fraternityTo apply
