About 

Africaid is a community organization which through its Zvandiri programme, integrates community prevention, treatment, care and support for children, adolescents and young people living with HIV. Works with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) and National AIDS Council in implementing these interventions with funding from various donors. It seeks to recruit for an anticipated USAID-funded five-year program focusing on Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), their households, and communities in parts of Zimbabwe.

The Technical Director’s role is a key position with very huge demands at any given time hence the person should be a team player, good at multitasking with excellent strategy formulation skills who achieves balance in their life and grow the enthusiasm of fellow employees for the global achievement of the organizational set goals and objectives.


Job description

  • The Technical Director will be responsible for the provision of technical leadership and direction to the project in alignment with PEPFAR Technical Guidelines and Zimbabwe’s COP, project objectives, technical standards and best practices, and global evidence;
  • Strategize and lead programming efforts to improve comprehensive service delivery to OVC and their families, ensuring program quality and responsiveness to emerging needs;
  • Provide technical supervision and oversight of program implementation in target districts in coordination with key stakeholders and sub. 


Qualifications

  • The Technical Director must have: A Master’s degree in Public Health or related field (Social sciences) or medical degree with additional post-grad qualifications (e.g post graduate degree in public health or gender studies);
  • A minimum of 10 years progressively responsible, professional - level experience managing public health programs with emphasis on HIV / AIDS;
  • Proven working experience collaborating with government institutions, especially the Ministry of Public Service, Labor and Social Welfare structures from National to District level as well as with other community and NGO Stakeholders proven experience in the development of HIV service delivery guidelines; Implementation tools and job aides;
  • Previous experience in implementing a USG program an added advantage; Demonstrated skills in planning, program management, implementation, and monitoring for impact.
