About the organisation

Jairos Jiri Association is a big local NGO in Zimbabwe that seeks to recruit outstanding and result-oriented Retired State Registered Nurses. Jairos Jiri Association mainly focuses on advocacy for People with Disabilities. This issue is addressed in a holistic manner to address the rights of people with disabilities such as rights to education, rights to socialise with other people in the society, rights to good shelter and of much importance rights to good health. The organisation also focus on the representation of PWD. JJA sees its continued role as that of taking head-on cultural barriers facing PWDs so as to transform behaviours of the community towards people with disabilities.

About the job

The incumbent will report to the Head of Rehabilitation. Nurses help people with disabilities in prescribing correct medication for those with ill health and give proper advice to those with chronic diseases. Nurses in JJA also give advice on health care as well as how to care for assistive devices such as callipers, crutches, lower and upper limbs repair and wheelchairs and fitting of the assistive devices.

Main duties and responsibilities

Managing the entire clinic; Preparing and carrying out assessments of patients; Developing and processing prescriptions for patients; Producing high standard health precautions for children at the centre; Maintaining communication with the Medical Council to meet legal requirements; Supervise and assess food for children their health, general maintenance of a healthy environment at school; Administer Health precautions against COVID 19.

Qualifications and experience

The incumbent to have at least a Diploma in Nursing; Practising and registered with the Medical Council of Zimbabwe; A minimum of 3 years experience in Nursing.
