The Botswana Institute for Technology, Research and Innovation (BITRI), is an established science and technology research institute whose mandate is to undertake research, identify and or develop appropriate technologies in line with national priorities and needs of Botswana.

Job Description As a Software Developer (Business Analysis) at BITRI, you work closely with the Product Manager, Quality Assurance, Software Architects, and Development teams to produce quality software that meets our client needs. The Business Analyst will manage the requirements process and will serve as the liaison between the Product Owner, Project Manager and the Development teams to deliver industry-leading solutions. Some of the responsibilities will include taking a lead role in: •Creating a detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for a business •Planning and Monitoring •Defining business requirements and reporting them back to stakeholders •Supporting traceability from requirements through to QA; assisting in the definition of test plans and testing strategies and creation of test cases •Managing communication plan and change management processes •Assisting in the definition of roll out, training and user support plans •Creating and/or reviewing manuals, procedures, and related user documentation; ensuring documentation is targeted to the appropriate audience •Presenting concepts in a concise and focused manner, including narrative, process diagrams, role and accountability diagrams and business-focused story boards

Academic and Professional Qualifications A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any equivalent qualification acceptable to BITRI is required. Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage during the selection process. Work Experience A minimum of 2 years enterprise software development and/or business analysis industry experience. Preferred candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge or experience with: •Requirements elicitation tools and techniques •Design Thinking concepts •Project Management •Database design and architecture •Agile development process and related tools •Front-end framework – Bootstrap, Angular JS and Angular 7 •Spring/Hibernate Framework •Test Tools – TestRail, TDD JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber Personal Qualities & Behavioral Traits •Good communication skills, ability and interest to work across a range of different programmes, good organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently. •Extremely organized with strong time-management skills •Eagerness to learn, work and train colleagues with passion •Good project management skills
