UNIVERSITY FARM
The Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences is currently seeking the services of a highly motivated and experienced Security Corporal and Security Guards on fixed term contracts to manage the security operations of its 2000 Ha Farm situated 35 km west of Rusape.

DEPARTMENT OF SECURITY
SECURITY CORPORAL (1 POST) – 12 MONTHS - FIXED TERM CONTRACT

Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will report functionally to the Security Sergeant and administratively
to the Farm Manager and will be responsible for:

= Overseeing the operations of the Security Unit the farm including putting in place systems and procedures meant to prevent and detect any crimes and prevent any possible losses.

= Deploys security guards to various security points, monitors their performance, welfare, skills and advices high authorities accordingly.
 
= Coaches security guards, rewards or reprimands them on minor conducts and misconducts respectively.

= Parading his relief section 15 minutes before starting time, inspecting the section kit, turnout and physical condition of each individual.

= Spelling out operational orders and checking on the performance and alertness of deployed security details under his command.

= Ensuring that station posts books are up to date and contain all the occurrences and incidents of the shift.

= Recording and checking all scene reports and attending to them promptly.

= Identifying and promptly reporting potential security threats and conducting necessary investigations where appropriate.

= Recording statements from informants, complainants, witnesses and accused/suspected persons.

= Ensuring smooth flow of communication at the University Farm Security section

= Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned from time to time

Work/Educational Requirements

= A minimum of 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language.

= Certificate in Security or proof of having received training in security operations from reputable accredited institutions.

= Demonstrable ability in the use of Computers.

= Five (5) years relevant experience as a Security Guard or working in Security Institutions performing security duties, two (2) years should be at a supervisory level.

= No criminal record.

= A basic appreciation of the criminal laws of Zimbabwe.

= Mature personality.

= Knowledge of closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring is an added advantage.
