Safe Space Programme Officer: ZAPSO

Location: Mbire District
Duration: 6 months
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the following position within the organization ZAPSO
Duties and Responsibilities
Disseminating information about consequences of Sexual Gender Violence, mandatory reporting regulations and assist the community identify their needs and options; Building the capacity of behavior change community volunteers to conduct community SGBV surveillance and ensure successful and timely referrals; Strengthening the integration of SGBV, SRHR, HIV/AIDS and knowledge on the vulnerabilities of women and girls; Facilitate participation of women with disabilities and their caregivers in community activities; Work closely with district stakeholders in the identification of safe spaces in the district and ensure confidential service provision; Advocate with traditional, religious, administrative and other leaders in the district on provision SGBV related prevention services; Work closely with community volunteers on addressing survivors’ physical, emotional, psychological, social, protection, and financial needs and provide follow up to ensure needed services are provided; Work closely upon the consent of the survivor with different community volunteers and SGBV service providers to ensure successful and timely referrals; Work closely with the community workers to provide outreach to encourage the community to come forward and seek assistance; Undertake quarterly advocacy and support visits to selected wards in the districts at least on a monthly basis; Compile and submit monthly and/or quarterly progress reports and any other data as required by program manager; Attend trainings and assist in organizing trainings as required; Any other task designated by the Program manager
We are looking for a candidate who has
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team; Initiative and result-oriented; Attention to detail; Ability to work under pressure; Good computer skills; Ability to work with all groups in the community; Tact, advocacy, diplomacy, and consensus-building skills
Requirements
Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, Counseling or equivalent. Master’s Degree is an added advantage; Minimum of 2 years’ experience at a professional level; Sound knowledge and understanding of Sexual Gender-Based Violence, HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights issues; Experience in working in humanitarian settings, SGBV Programmes, Public Health or Health Promotion an asset; Experience in Training, counseling or project management an asset; Experience and ability to interact with community workers and district leadership; Holder of clean class four (4) driver’s license is an added advantage.
