Qualifications and experience
The candidate should have:
- At least an Honours degree in Education or other fields plus an education certificate such as a Post graduate Diploma in education (PGDE) or Post graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education (PGDTE);
- A Master’s degree in Education or related field is an added advantage;
- Competency in research, qualitative or quantitative research; proficiency in mixed methods is an added advantage;
- At least five (2) years relevant post qualification working experience;
- Experience working in a university set up is an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide quality assurance operational and technical assistance services;
- Manage, develop and/or reviews of quality assurance documents (e.g. policy, manual) procedures and systems;
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, legislation/policies and procedures;
- Monitor the performance of Quality Assurance Committees;
- Monitor, assess and evaluate the quality performance of the University and units/department;
- Sensitise stakeholders on the University quality assurance systems, operations, procedures;
- Conduct quality assurance related research;
- Generate appropriate reports;
- Work within the University quality assurance framework to check the conformity of academic programme regulations to accreditation standards;
- Ensure communications systems and practices support effective management arrangements and promote good relations among staff and students;
- Responsible for your own continuing self-development;
- Notify a more senior member of staff of any errors or concerns at the earliest opportunity;
- Undertake other duties not specifically stated above, which from time to time are necessary for the effective performance of the department’s business without altering the nature or level of responsibility involved;
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Director.
