ActionAid Zimbabwe is a global justice organization working in over 40 countries, taking sides with people living in poverty and exclusion to achieve social justice, poverty eradication and gender equality.
ActionAid Zimbabwe has a vacancy that has arisen under its Danish Television project (Danish Tv project). The overall objective of the Danish Tv project is to empower and transform the lives of young people in Hopely through provision of capacity building and advocacy platforms.
Position summary
The Project Officer will work closely with the WREJ Manager to ensure compliance to project implementation standards and guidelines. He/she will be responsible for overseeing assigned projects work plan performance, participating in projects planning, budgeting implementation, monitoring, and reporting. She/he will be responsible for setting up the Youth Hub in Hopely, ensuring that it is fully functional and responding to the needs of the youths. She/He will be responsible for stakeholder relations in the geographic area. The Project Officer will also work together with the ME&L Officer in ensuring that continuous monitoring and evaluation of the project is carried out and used in implementation.
Qualifications
The Project Officer must have: a degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management or equivalent; post graduate qualification in a related field will be an added advantage; solid knowledge of gender and financial inclusion sector as evidenced by minimum 3 years, officer level work experience within business development, entrepreneurship development, gender mainstreaming, protection and capacity development of relevant line ministries and other key stakeholders; experience in NGO sector or working with other agencies in gender and women’s protection, market systems facilitation, agribusiness or financial services is desirable; excellent facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills with ability to work independently and under pressure; effective communication skills and ability to network and establish collaboration with different partners and agencies.
