GOAL is an international non-denominational, non-governmental and non-political humanitarian organisation dedicated to work towards ensuring the poorest and most vulnerable in our world and those affected by humanitarian crises have access to the fundamental rights of life, including but not limited to adequate shelter, food, water and sanitation, healthcare and education. We began humanitarian and developmental work in Zimbabwe from 2002 and we are gradually evolving from emergency response to long-term development. Currently our focus is on Livelihoods, Nutrition and WASH. General description of the role Reporting to the Country Director the Project Manager will be responsible for managing the implementation of an urban assistance programme focusing on the provision of access to food through a social safety net to ‘at-risk’ households affected by challenges associated with socio- economic risks, vulnerabilities and poverty in urban and peri-urban areas of Marondera. Summary of Key Duties Supervise the overall implementation of the project, monitor, report and review progress and make firm recommendations for the improvement in line with the overall objectives of the project, Coordinate project activities with project team, the donor and project stakeholders, Prepare monthly project implementation plans, Manage and support project team to ensure project milestones are met, Coordinate with logistics to ensure that all project inputs are procured, stored and distributed to the project beneficiaries on time and project documents are filed properly, Work closely with the Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Coordinator on the design, collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data for the project, Coordinate with other implementing agencies also focusing on tackling urban food insecurity and resilience-building activities where targeted areas overlap, Manage the implementation of resilience-building interventions to promote the well-being of vulnerable households in Marondera in the face of shocks and stresses, Participate in budget formulations and compilations, and all paperwork for requisition and acquisition of project materials, Represent GOAL in stakeholders meetings, Ensure Project documents kept are compliant to donor requirements, Commit to adhere to and respect the Code of conduct and Safeguarding policies. Qualifications At least a Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences or equivalent. A Masters’ Degree in a similar field is preferred, Evidence of maturity and experience in livelihoods interventions in urban community assistance programs, At least five years’ work experience in related livelihoods interventions and cash transfers at a supervisory/managerial level, Understanding of safeguarding and mainstreaming principles including gender, HIV/AIDS and Protection, Confident presentation and facilitation skills, proven record in provision of trainings, Ability to manage teams and good people skills, Ability to under pressure, with minimum supervision, Proficiency in using standard computer software, especially Microsoft office products, Clean class 4 driver’s license.
