Qualifications, experience, and key competencies required
A degree in Medicine from a recognized institution; A postgraduate qualification in Public Health, epidemiology or a related field, with specific emphasis on community-level health promotion and/or education is a distinct advantage; Minimum three years’ experience in designing, implementing and monitoring large-scale HIV prevention, care, treatment and support programs; Prior experience in building capacity for key populations and health care providers in improving health through the use of participatory methodologies for planning and implementing local-level activities; A proven Key populations thought leader, technical Influencer, team and relationship builder, demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based and structural HIV prevention care and support interventions for key populations and linkage to services, and approaches to economic strengthening of AGYW; Excellent interpersonal, training, facilitation, team building and problem solving skills. Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding HIV prevention, care, and treatment of KPs and AGYW; Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain professional relationships and to work collaboratively with government counterparts and civil society organizations; Excellent written and oral communication skills, knowledge of local languages required; Demonstrated familiarity with the Zimbabwe health system at all levels, with a unique understanding of decentralized (district, community, and site-level) program management, service delivery, and demand creation structures; Willing to travel to project sites in Zimbabwe (up to 25% of the time).
