Job Description

Job Summary The Project Field Assistant will be responsible for facilitating implementation of the Emergency Cash Transfer Response project in line with project objectives at District level. Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Plans  weekly, monthly and quarterly project activities
  • Conducts community stakeholder leadership orientation and sensitisation meetings
  • Conducts process monitoring at community level on food distributions, gender and compliance issues, market conditions and anthropometric measures.
  • Conducts Social Analysis and Action, (SAA), Gender Assessment, Market Assessment in targeted wards
  • Leads on ward beneficiary registration and verification to prepare monthly distribution list.
  • Conducts food distribution as per CARE donor guidelines.
  • Identifies project sites in liaison with the relevant stakeholders and community.
  • Selects project participants through inclusive and gender equitable process in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Establishes and trains project implementation teams, Asset Management committees, Disaster Risk Reduction Committee’s and Garden committees.
  • Trains farmers on asset utilization, asset management and gender equity.
  • Monitors work sites.
  • Participates in district meetings as assigned by Project Manager.
  • Manages relationships with stakeholders including government line ministries, NGOs and private sectors at ward level.
  • Liaises with stakeholders on project monitoring activities at ward level.
  • Prepares and submits reports to the Project Manager
  • Ensures that IASC core principles and Safeguarding standards are met and maintained accordingly.
  • Reports cases of suspected SHEA to the Emergency Coordinator, and or relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensures that Safeguarding information is disseminated to the relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

Qualifications, skills and experience:
  • Diploma in Development Studies/Social Sciences/ Emergency Response or equivalent
  • 2 years’ experience in community based programmes or related
  • Experience with emergency response programming e.g. Food aid
  • Experience with cash transfers
  • Good public relations, team player and able to work under strenuous conditions.
  • Ability and willingness to ride a motorcycle is a must.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
