Overall Mission
The Project Assistant plays an important role in supporting Country Office and Partners’ in ensuring programming meets the expected quality and standards in line with CBM’S expectations. Project Assistant will support the programmes department to meet quality standards in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects; including reporting and documentation. In addition, the Project Assistant will be key in supporting and consolidating advisory work; ensuring that stakeholders such as Civil Society Organizations, UN Agencies, and Independent Institutions view CBM as “the go” organization on disability issues.
Pre-Requisites
Education, Knowledge & Professional Experience: An Undergraduate Degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Social Sciences or related field; Professional experience of at least 1 year in a national or international NGO doing disability inclusion work; Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge/experience in dealing with orphans, child protection issues, vulnerable children and HIV; Experience in programming, disability inclusion, and advisory services; Experience in project cycle management, including assessment, monitoring, and evaluation, with a sound understanding of budgeting and programming; Demonstrated experience in managing internal and external relationships and partnerships particularly with NGOs, Civil Society Organizations, and National / local governments; Experience in working with various government/bi-lateral/major institutional donors; Experience in working under USAID funded projects is an added advantage.
Tools: Good knowledge of MS Office (particularly advanced Excel skills)

Main Activities
Provide general administrative support to the programs department; Support the programs department in capacity building partners’ organisations in disability-inclusive development initiatives; Assist in the development of inclusive material for the country office and project partners as needed from time to time; Support country planning processes such as annual work plans, strategy and MYPs; Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and other written deliverables as requested; Support the development of the advisory unit within the country office; Support the development and review of programme reports and other written content as required; Planning and coordination of events, meetings, and training as required; Assist in reviewing and providing input on statistical reports, narrative reports, financial reports as well as other key CBM reports and documents; Support project proposals and other fundraising initiatives; Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
