Background

Insiza Godlwayo AIDS Council (IGAC) is implementing the Pathways OVC Project in Insiza and Lupane District in Matabeleland South and North Provinces. Pathways is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through Catholic Relief Services (CRS). The project is targeting the Orphaned and Vulnerable Children and their Caregivers through streamlined individual based interventions premised on the project four domains in Healthy, Safe, Stable and Schooled. IGAC is looking for suitably qualified individuals to fill in the above-mentioned posts.

Position Summary

Primarily responsible for planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting of Pathways and DREAMS programmes. She/he is expected to plan the seamless implementation of Pathways and DREAMS programmes components as well as ensuring that programme staff are motivated and clear on the programme deliverables.

Objectives

Work with program staff to prioritize programming activities and adjust as guided by the feedback from the field; Work with program staff to set short- and long-term goals for Programs department.; Manage and implement the Organization sustainability and exit strategy; Using performance measures developed within the organization, monitor progress against service plans to ensure that standards are continually being improved and appropriate corrective action to be applied in the event of deviations from service area plans; Manage strategic projects to ensure that the project timetables and budgets are met; Provide leadership to the team and provide strategic input for programming and partnership strategies and ensuring a consistency of approach and deliverables for program quality activities; Work with other departments to ensure integration of program quality plans with the overall organizational strategy; Represent the organisation in local and National forums and collaborative groups focused on programming and partnership strategies; Provide ongoing support and counsel for innovation initiatives, including planning and facilitating engagements and programs; Work with MEAL department to ensure that programme activities are monitored, feedback and lessons learnt are utilized to improve programme reach and quality; Work with all departments and individuals to ensure that child safe guarding initiatives and standards are adhered to; Ensure implementation fidelity across models used by the project as per technical guidance; Training, mentoring, supervising and supporting programme team and community cadres; Develop and monitor project scope of work, budgets and timelines; Identify innovations, impact and liaise with MEAL for documentation; Prepare, coordinate reviews, review different project documents and reports; Contribute to development of project IEC materials; Review weekly performance dashboard to inform related decisions; Reporting - Generate and share quality periodic activity, monthly and quarterly in line with the donor and organization expectations, Ensure documentation of best practices in form of case studies abstracts, video clips in addition to the routine monthly updates, quarterly and annual reports.

Qualifications

A Master’s Degree in Social Sciences/relevant field with a minimum of 5 years Community Development experience, at least 2 years in senior management level; Experience in implementing USAID funded OVC/DREAM program; Experience in Project Planning and Management; Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office packages; Excellent report writing skills; Good interpersonal skills; Good written and communication skills; Ability to engage and manage stakeholder relationship; Creative problem solving abilities; Team player; Demonstrated ability to work in multicultural environment. Should be a team player and able to work with minimum supervision, effective communicator; Flexible to work weekend and after hours and be on call whenever need arises.
