Programme Policy Officer Food Programme's (WFP) 2017-2021 Country Strategic Plan (CSP) for Zimbabwe is seeking to recruit a Programme Policy Officer. Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Country Director and direct supervision of the Head of Field Office, the Deputy Head of Field Office will coordinate and monitor implementation of all WFP Zimbabwe Country Strategic Plan (CSP) within a specified area under the Harare Field Office. The incumbent is expected to take responsibility for completion of a range of processes and activities related to monitoring that require some interpretation of standard guidelines/practices and be able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels. Duties
  • Assisting the Head of Field Office with coordination, managing and leading WFP field operations within the area of assignment to ensure timely and effective deployment of food assistance programmes.
  • Contribute towards the development of projects, plans and processes, ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance.
  • Provide project management support to specific and defined programmes and projects ensuring a coordinated approach with wider programmes that complies with WFP standards and procedures.
  • Follow data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.
  Requirements
  • Education: Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses. Language: Fluency (level C) in English language and Shona and/or Ndebele
  • At least 5 years of progressive professional experience in commerce, development, administration or food aid support.
