The Salvation Army-Howard Mission Hospital is a registered faith based organization providing clinical and social services to marginalized communities in Mashonaland Central of Zimbabwe. The organization is committed to improve the wellbeing of people through quality health care, child protection and household economic empowerment. A dedicated team of experts with a mix of unique talent help the organization in addressing the community's connected challenges. Through its USAID / PEPFAR funded OVC programme, the organization is currently seeking services of Program Intern to ensure program deliverables are met.
Duties
Assist programs officers in implementing the Pathways Project; Ensuring adherence to the Pathways Standard Operating Procedures; Assist SILC and Education officers in implementing activities under the Stable and Education domains; Assist programs officers in conducting retention and attendance tracking; Work closely with Department of Social Development, MoPSE and Ministry of Women Affairs Gender Community and Small to Medium Enterprise Development to conduct follow ups and home visits of programme participants; Writing concise monthly reports; Conducting; Assessing program beneficiaries for graduation readiness; Ensure any violations or non-compliance to Howard Hospital Child protection and safeguarding policy are reported to the safeguarding focal person; Support and supervise community cadres; Train volunteers on data collection tools; Check data quality on documents submitted data by volunteers; Facilitate monthly volunteer feedback meetings
Qualifications and experience
Minimum qualifications and requirements: A university degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or any other relevant Social Sciences; At least one year experience working with vulnerable groups, particularly children; Working experience in providing OVC services and experience of implementing USAID / PEPFAR OVC programming is an added advantage; Working understanding of the National Case Management System; Proven understanding of linkages between HIV/AIDS and Child Protection; Demonstrated understanding of the Education, Health and Child Protection Systems in Zimbabwe; Experience of working with either children, women, local community structures and government structures; Excellent report writing and communication skills; Ability to work with little or no supervision; Results oriented and able to work under pressure and with strict deadlines.
