Palliative Care Project Coordinator - Integration Project: Island Hospice and Healthcare

Background
Island Hospice and Healthcare a national palliative care organization is looking for an experienced project coordinator to support the integration of palliative care into the health delivery system project. The incumbent will support the Palliative Care Core Group Team which is led by the Ministry of Health and Child Care in implementing the palliative care strategy for Zimbabwe. The incumbent will be seconded to Ministry of Health and Child Care to champion the palliative care desk in the Ministry but will remain accountable to Island Hospice & Healthcare. Incumbent will be expected to liaise and work with technical working group chairpersons in ensuring activities are undertaken per group. The incumbent will also monitor project plans, activity schedules and budgets and expenditures, participate in stakeholder meetings, strategy meetings and ensure project deadlines are met in a timely manner.
Key Competencies
The ideal candidate should have the following competencies: Very good interpersonal and relationship management skills; Extensive knowledge on how MoHCC operates; A proven track record of implementing national projects; Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, budgets and expenditures; Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings; Compiling project reports; Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings; Ensure project deadlines are met; Determining project changes; Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team; Competency in Microsoft applications including work, excel, powerpoint and outlook.
Qualifications
A degree in public health e.g. MPH or Epidemiology; Clinical background (e.g. MBCHB, Nurse, Social Worker etc.) especially in palliative care is an added advantage; Experience in the NGO sector an added advantage; Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position.
