About Federation of Organisations of Disabled People in Zimbabwe
The Federation of Organizations of Disabled People in Zimbabwe [FODPZ], registered as a Private Voluntary Organisation in 2004 is a non-profit national disability umbrella organisation of Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs). The objective of its formation was to strengthen and unify the representative voice of OPDs and organizations of Parents of Children with Disabilities in Zimbabwe. The organisation seeks to facilitate collaboration, networking and coordination of its member organizations to acquire capacity, efficiency and effectiveness required in advocacy and lobbying aimed at improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities in Zimbabwe through disability inclusive by-laws, policies and legislation.
Purpose of the function / role
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will provide support to FODPZ and its affiliate OPDs in developing monitoring and evaluating frameworks and tools across interventions as well as lead in research/data collection and transmission initiatives. The incumbent will also be involved in report compilation for institutional donors.
Main duties and responsibilities
To develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks and systems; Provide support in tracking and harvesting results periodically; record, manage and preserve monitoring and evaluation data in a safe and accessible way; provide technical support on M&E and evidence-based recommendations to affiliate OPDs and other Partners; Participate actively in research and concept/Proposal development (NB A detailed Job description to be shared with the successful candidate); Conducting visits to support partner M&E activities and recommending areas to be strengthened Developing and managing a computerized database to ensure up to date and accurate information on all projects; Spearheading evaluations and studies required.
Qualifications and experience
A degree in Monitoring & Evaluation; Development Studies; Statistics; Disability Studies and/or any social science discipline related to development. A post-graduate qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation would be an added advantage. A clean Driver's licence.
Experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation within a non-governmental organisation; development of M&E systems, field data collection and analysis, using online tools such as Kobo Collect for surveys, change stories development, partner capacity building and report writing.
Other attributes
Appreciation of different types of disability and disability programming, Time management and ability to prioritise multiple tasks; Self-motivated person able to work without close supervision; Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment and with persons with diverse disabilities; Travelling to far remote areas and willingness to work outside normal working hours at critical times.
