Overview
Of The Functions Of The Post
Under the overall authority of the Assistant Director General for Education, guidance from the Regional Director, ROSA, and the direct supervision of the Regional Advisor for Education for Health and Wellbeing, the incumbent will provide M&E and knowledge management support to the EHW Regional Team in line with UNESCO’s Education for Health and Wellbeing portfolio specifically, the “Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future” (O3) Programme. The role will be conducted in close collaboration with the M&E Officer, CSE Digital Specialist and the country National Project Officers under the Eastern and Southern Africa region. The incumbent is expected to exercise full compliance with UNESCO programming, digital workspace guidelines, procurement and administrative rules, regulations, policies and strategies, as well as implementation of the effective internal control systems.
The incumbent will specifically provide support under the following roles;
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
Support strengthening of Results Based Monitoring & Evaluation, including but not limited to, development of results frameworks; indicator definitions and measurement methodologies; and monitoring and reporting tools.
Analyse programme data and information to identify gaps and opportunities to deepen evidence and improve programme implementation and monitoring.
Undertake data quality assessments; and extract and synthesize data for assessment of programme performance against set targets.
Support compilation of quality programme reports, including annual reports, SISTER reports and other on-demand reports.
Research and Knowledge Management
Draft terms of reference for researches/evaluations/analyses/reviews, and support quality assurance processes for deliverables.
Support documentation and dissemination of lessons learned and best practices across O3 programme countries, and overall formulation and/or strengthening of knowledge management tools and methods.
Management of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) Learning Platform
Support management and monitoring of the CSE Learning Platform, including but not limited to on-demand upload of new publications/ resources onto the platform, and regular content audits across all pages to ensure they are accurate and up to date
Collect ‘news and events’ content from country colleagues bi-monthly, and upload the content onto the CSE learning Platform, Young People Today website and any other EHW digital platforms.
Extract statistics on different matrices for the CSE Learning Platform and produce bi-monthly reports
Management of CSE Online Course
Administer Learning Management System (LMS) settings and accounts, including user management, settings and configuration.
Coordinate implementation of training activities with subject experts.
Generate regular reporting, which tracks user registration, course completion rates and performance results.
Use analytics to inform data-driven decisions in an academic/instructional context.

Education.
Undergraduate degree in any of the following fields; Public Health, Social Sciences and Development Studies
Certification in any of the following areas of competency; Monitoring and evaluation, Project management, Project design
Skills
and competencies
Familiarity with web based management systems
Appreciation of Moodle Learning Management System or ability to understand and use all aspects of an institutional Learning Management System (LMS)
Excellent data analysis and presentation skills
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Good written and oral communication skills
Languages
Fluency (oral and written) in English.
Fluency in at least one of the UN languages will be considered as an added advantage
Work Experience
At least 2 years’ experience in documenting country and/or ESA regional progress in the Public Health sector
Working experience in monitoring & evaluation related tasks
Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.) and working knowledge and understanding of spreadsheets, database packages and experience in handling web-based management systems
