CNFA is a US-based non-profit nongovernmental organization (NGO) that works to stimulate economic growth and improve rural livelihoods in the developing world through five core capabilities: (1) Productivity, Food Security and Nutrition; (2) Input Supply and Farm Services; (3) Economic Resilience and Rapid Recovery; (4) Value Chain Development; and (5) Volunteer Technical Assistance. Amalima Loko is a new USAID-funded 5-year program implemented by CNFA and 5 partner organizations which applies community-driven approaches to improve food security, nutrition, and natural resource management in over 80 communal wards in Matabeland North.


Position Summary


The Logistics Officer is a key member of the CNFA operations team and will report to the Field Operations Coordinator. S/he will be responsible for coordinating logistics processes.


Location - Lupane or Hwange with travel within Amalima Loko operational areas


Responsibilities


Coordinate logistics operations, including, material and personnel and provide logistics support to ongoing operations in the consortium

Ensure that logistics requirements take account of gender-specific needs;

Assist Field Operations Coordinator to administer day-to-day administrative and operations activities

Coordinate logistics and procurement activities with the team;

Prepare reports on material movements and other operational logistics issues,

Ensure that accurate and complete operations, reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are maintained; maintain orderly files

Keep abreast of changes in all governmental taxes, duty fees, levies and procedures effecting procurement

Ensure compliance of procurement rules and procedures in the purchase of goods and services

Ensure periodic maintenance of all the equipment consulting with divisional heads

Keep updated records of the administrative activities and institutional documents such as; Policy Guidelines, Certificates, Contracts, Minutes etc.

Assets Management


Coordinate and keep updated the records of all Operations.

Follow up on and assure the management of all these contracts

Timely verifying and keep updated fixed assets/inventory registers which are audit ready.

Ensure all have inventory tags.

Support the allocation and use of equipment in accordance with administration procedures and program needs

Monitor the maintenance and repairing of the equipment

Update equipment list and the general asset register and feed into the asset/equipment disposal plan

Work with asset holders and ensure continuous updating of assets and inventory list, asset tagging and safeguarding to satisfy organisation and donor requirements



Tags economic growth ethics food security logistics maintenance and repair natural resource management operational logistics procurement rural livelihoods supply chain supply chain management value chain

Manage the approved asset movement, monitor, track and update the records accordingly

Follow-up and oversee that the assets, inventory for all offices are accurate and up to date

Maintain and update the monthly assets list and organise quarterly assets counts

Ensure that all electronic assets are properly insured and liaise with the insurance company in case of any claims.

Perform any other activities as instructed by the Field Operations Coordinator or Operations/Safety Security Manager

Maintain audit ready files

Qualifications


Relevant university degree in e.g. Purchasing & Supply, Logistics & Transport with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience in areas such as transport or logistic operations/management, supply chain management, etc.

Clean Class 4 drivers' licence and class 2 will be a plus

At least 5 years NGO and USAID experience in logistics

Excellent communication, planning and organizing skills

Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision

Highly well versed in USAID logistics & procurement regulations

Must be able to maintain confidentiality matters

Reliable & strong ethics

Good negotiating & interpersonal skills and maintain effective working relationship with partners

Computer literacy

Languages


Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. Ability to speak and understand IsiNdebele strongly preferred, other languages spoken in Matabeleland North preferred.
